İnsanlığın yükseltildiği bu aşamanın, daha öncekilerden farklılığını gösteren birçok işaret olmakla birlikte, hakikatin insanın anlam(landırma) dünyasındaki temsil düzeyinin bir üst aşamaya yükselişinde İbrahim’e verildiği söylenen kelimât (kelimeler)ın ayrı bir yeri vardır. İbrahim peygambere verilen bu kelimeler üzerinden, insanlığın zihinsel gelişiminin izini sürmek mümkündür; zira her peygamberin, kendi kavminin diliyle gönderildiğini söyleyen Kur’an ayetindeki dil, konuşulan dilin ötesinde, zihin seviyesine, varlığı kavrama tarzına ve reel ve ideal boyutlarıyla bir anlam dünyasının var olup olmadığına işaret eden daha geniş bir referans çerçevesine sahiptir.

The Prophet Abraham has a distinct and distinguished mastership among the prophets. The intellectual level he displayed in his debate with the pagans and in his reflection over the created realm shows this distinct place in the history of religions. The Qur’anic term kalimât has the key role to grasp Abraham’s historic role, so this paper compares this term with asmâ of Adam. While the former shows an advanced intellectual level of human conception the metaphysical world, the latter represents a kind of nominalism. Through these two term, this paper analyses the evolution of human intellect from Adam through Abraham, a wise and trusted guide of believers who not only want to believe but to justify this belief with compelling evidence i.e. kalimât as referred in the Holy Qur’an.
