STRESLİ FARELERİN BEYİN VE KARACİĞERLERİNDEKİ TOPLAM LİPİD VE TOPLAM GLİKOZ SEVİYELERİNE KEDİ OTU (Valeriana officinalis), REZENE (Foeniculum vulgare), OĞUL OTU (Melissa officinalis) VE PAROKSETİN’İN ETKİLERİ

Bu araştırma, açlık ve kafein stresine maruz bırakılmış farelerde, rezene, oğul otu ve kedi otu ve paroksetin’in kan, karaciğer ve beyindeki toplam glikoz ve toplam lipit seviyelerine etkileri ve bu etkenlerin stresi önleyip önlemediklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Deneyler sonunda, açlık ve kafeinizasyon stresine maruz bırakılan farelerde, strese bağlı olarak kan, karaciğer ve beyinde glikoz ve lipit konsantrasyonu artmıştır (p<0.001).  Artmış kan glikozunu rezene, kedi otu ve oğul otu normal seviyelere düşürürken, paroksetin hiperglisemik etki göstermiştir (p<0.001). Stres sonucu kan ve organlardaki yükselmiş lipit konsantrasyonunu ise, etkenlerin hepsi düşürerek hipolipidemik etki göstermişlerdir (p<0.001). Sonuç olarak, bu araştırmanın bulgularına göre, denemede kullanılan bitkiler, kan ve organlardaki lipit ve glikozu düşürdükleri için stres üzerine etkilidirler.

EFFECTS OF VALERIAN (Valeriana officinalis), FENNEL (Foeniculum vulgare), LEMON BALM (Melissa officinalis) AND PAROXETINE ON BRAIN AND LIVER TOTAL LIPID AND TOTAL GLUCOSE LEVELS IN STRESSED MICE

This investigation was carried out to determine the effects of fennel seeds, valerian root, lemon balm leaf and paroxetine on total glucose and total lipit concentrationsin brain and liver and whether these agents prevent to stress or not.  Starvation and caffeinization caused both stress and increased glucose and lipit on blood, liver and brain.  While, increased blood glucose reduced with fennel, valerian and lemon balm at normal levels but paroxetine caused to hyperglyceamic effect.  Furthermore, increased blood and organ lipit reduced with fennel, valerian, lemon balm and paroxetine.  All of agents caused hypolipitemic effect.  In conclusion, according to findings of this investigation, used herbs in experiments are effective on stress because this herbs reduced blood and organ lipit and glucose levels.
