Prostat kanseri ve apoptozis ilişkisi

Prostat erkek genital sisteminin en büyük aksesuar bezi olup, erkek üretrasının başlangıç kısmını oluşturur. Prostat karsinomu erkek cinste en çok görülen internal malignitedir. Kansere bağlı ölümlerde ise ikinci sırada yer alır. Malign hastalıklar, klasik olarak kontrolsüz aşırı hücre proliferasyonunun olduğu hastalıklar olarak bilinir. Oysa aşırı proliferasyonun yanında azalmış apoptozisin de malignite gelişimine katkıda bulunduğu görülmüştür. Apoptozis (programlanmış hücre ölümü) birçok hastalıkta önemli rol oynar ve serbest radikal hasarı, sitokinler ve inflamatuar yaralanma tarafından tetiklenir. Bu derleme; apoptozis ve kanser arasındaki ilgi çekici bağlantıları göstermek ve bu konuda araştırma yapmak isteyenlere toplu bir kaynak sunmak amacıyla yapıldı

The relationship between prostate cancer and apoptosis

Prostate is the largest accessory gland of male genital tract and the beginning part of male urethra. Prostate cancer is the most common internal malignancy in males. Prostate cancer is ranked as second in death from to cancer. A malignant disease is known as uncontrolled proliferation of cells. Beside excessive proliferation, decreased apoptosis was also observed contribute to the development of malignancy. Apoptosis (programmed cell death) plays an important role in many diseases and free radical damage, triggers by cytokines and inflammatory injury. This review has been prepared to show the interesting link between apoptosis and cancer and to provide collective source to who want to do research on this subject.
