ABDOMINAL EPILEPSY: A CASE REPORT
Introduction:Abdominal epilepsy is an rare cause of recurrent abdominal pain in children. Paroxysmal gastrointestinal complaints, symptoms of a central nervous system disturbance, electroencephalographic abnormalities which are specific for seizures and improvement with anticonvulsant drugs are basic factors for diagnosis of the abdominal epilepsy. Case:In this paper, we aimed to present a 14-year-old male patient who admitted to our outpatient clinic with complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting with the diagnosis of abdominal epilepsy, which is one of the rare causes of abdominal pain. Conclusion:In case of recurrent gastrointestinal complaints, further investigations of systemic diseases should be made, accompanying neurological symptoms should be questioned and electroencephalography should be performed.
