Nesh konusu Kur’an ilimlerinde üzerinde en fazla tartışmanın yapıldığı bir tefsir usulü meselesidir. Bu konuya önem atfeden müfessirlerden biri de meşhur el-Milel ve’n-nihal yazarı Muhammed b. Abdülkerîm eş-Şehristânî’dir. Şehristânî ilim çevrelerinde pek tanınmayan Mefâtîhu’l-esrâr ve mesâbîhu’l-ebrâr adlı tefsirinde nesh konusuna geniş yer vermiş, “nesh” kavramına “tekmil” mânası yükleyerek, yaygın anlayışın aksine, neshi var olan bir şeriatın ve hükmün sonradan gelen şer‘î bir hükümle yürürlükten kaldırılması, iptal veya ilga edilmesi şeklinde değil, var olan bir şeriatın ve hükmün daha iyisi ve faydalısıyla tebdil ve tekmil edilmesi şeklinde tedrîcî bir süreç olarak görmüştür. Bu makale nesh meselesini, bir dinler tarihi müellifi olarak, dinlerin devamlılığı zâviyesinden ele alan, bu şekilde farklı ve özgün bir bakış açısı sunan Şehristânî’nin nesh anlayışını Mefâtîhu’l-esrâr isimli tefsiri çerçevesinde ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır.

The question of naskh is a matter of tafsīr method on which there is still much debate in Quranic studies. One of the tafsīr scholars who is important in this matter is the author of the famous al-Milal wa al-nihāl, Shahrastānī. In the tafsīr work by Shahrastānī, Mafātīh al-asrār wa masābīh al-abrār, which is not well known in academic circles, the question of naskh is given a great deal of space. The concept of naskh is used in the meaning of takmīl rather than ibtāl which is the common understanding of the word. Thus it is not perceived as the cancellation or annulment of an existing law by a law that came later, thus removing it from practice, but rather as a gradual process which leads to improvement or perfection by amending or completing an existing law in a better or more useful manner. This paper aims to present the concept of naskh in the framework of Mafātīh al-asrār by Shahrastānī, who, as a historian of religion, approached the concept of naskh from the perspective of the continuity of religion, thus presenting a different and unique view in this matter.
