The Modern Middle East: A Sourcebook for History

Recent political events such as 9/11 and the Iraqi incursion have restarted the debate on the Middle East and its culture, which had lost currency in the United States after the Cold War. This interest also boosted the number of students willing to attend Middle Eastern Studies courses. In a rough comparison of the 1960s and 2000, Middle Eastern Studies in the US have gained ground.
