Okulöncesi eğitim döneminde çocuk bakıcıları:Ebeveynlerin yaşantıları ve görüşleri üzerine bir araştırma

21. Yüzyıl’da, çocuk bakıcıları, annelerin- özellikle tam zamanlı çalışan annelerin veyaçocuklarının bakımı için başka seçeneği olmayan annelerin vazgeçilmezi haline gelmiştir.Türkiye’de geniş ailelerde anneanne, babaanne, bekâr akraba kızları, teyze ve halaların çocukbakımını üstlendiği sıkça görülmektedir. Ancak, günümüzde bütün annelerin böyle bir olanağıyoktur. Bakıcılar, bu yardımı sağlayan, anne işte iken veya müsait değilken, çocuğun bakımınıüstlenen kişiler olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Türkiye’de yeni gelişmekte olan bu alanla ilgiliannelerin çocuk bakıcılarıyla yaşadığı deneyimlerini ve görüşlerini irdelemek ve bu konudauluslararası alan yazınını temel alarak önerilerde bulunmak, alanın gelişimine katkı sağlayabilir.Bu çalışmada annelerin deneyim ve görüşlerini almak üzere çeşitli soruları temel alan bireyselgörüşmeler yapılmıştır: Bu çalışmaya Kütahya merkezde yaşayan toplam 17 anne katılmıştır.Katılımcıların seçiminde kolay ulaşılabilirlik metodu kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışma çocuk bakıcılarıiçin mesleki gelişim kurslarının gerekliliğini ve ebeveynlerin çocuklarına kaliteli eğitim sağlamakonusunda bilinçlendirilmesi gerekliliğini ortaya koymuştur.

Babysitters in early childhood: A research on parents’experiences and perspectives on babysitters

Babysitters are lifesavers for the mothers who work full time and do not have many childcareoptions. In Turkey, it is common in extended families for grandmothers or unmarried relatives,especially aunts, to take care of children. However, not all mothers have this option today.Babysitters or nannies are one form of external childcare that mothers turn to. As babysitting is avery newly developing field, it is essential to explore and examine the experiences mothers havehad with their babysitters and make recommendations based on the research conducted in moreexperienced countries on this topic. In this study, mothers’ experiences and thoughts areexamined. The study involved 17 mothers living in central Kutahya, Turkey. To choose theparticipants, the study utilized the convenient sampling method. Findings of the study showed aneed for professional development courses for babysitters, as well as training for parents on howto provide quality education for their children.
