Kur’ân’ı anlama ve yorumlama arayışı nüzul döneminden itibaren hep var olagelmiştir. Erken dönemden başlayarak gerek Kur’ân ilimleriyle gerekse tefsir ve usul konularıyla meşgul olunması önemli eserlerin vücut bulmasına ve farklı yaklaşımların doğmasına sebebiyet vermiştir. Günümüzde tefsir tarihi araştırmaları öncelikli olarak tefsir faaliyetleri çerçevesinde geçmişten bugüne kadar telif edilen tefsir eserlerinin incelenmesi olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. İncelemeye çalıştığımız Mustafa Karagöz’ün Tefsir Tarihi Yazımı ve Problemleri adlı eseri betimleyici (tasvîrî -deskriptif) tanıtım metodu çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir. Eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla tefsir tarih yazımı serüvenini ortaya koyan bu eser, önemli değerlendirmeler sunmaktadır.

The search for understanding and interpreting the Qur'ān has always existed since the time of its revelation. Beginning from the early period, being busy with both Qur'ānic sciences tafsir and methodology has led to the emergence of important works as well as the different approaches Today, research on the history of tafsir emerges primarily as the examination of tafsir works that have been compiled from the past to the present within the framework of tafsir activities. Mustafa Karagöz's Writing the History of Tafsīr and Its Problems, which we are trying to analyze, has been evaluated within the framework of descriptive promotion method. This work, which presents the adventure of tafsir historiography with a critical point of view, offers important evaluations.
