Bu çalışma, Tanrı’nın bir vahyi olarak dinin, toplumsal bir tecrübede uygulama olmaktan çıkarılıp, teoloji aracılığıyla politik bir alana ve istismara dönüştürülme imkânlarını ve bu imkânlardan doğan uygulamaları değerlendirmektedir. İslam dünyası, din ile politika arasındaki ilişkide teoloji dilinden fazlaca beslenmiş görünmektedir. Bu da hem dinin hem de politik, yani toplumsal bir varlık olarak insanın, kendi özgünlüklerini gerçekleştirmesinin önüne geçmiştir. Din, bir uygulama (amel) ve yaşam tarzıdır, fakat bu Müslümanlar tarafından ihmal edilmiştir ve din, politika olarak algılanmıştır. Bu nedenle, politik güç kaybettiğinde, onlar din kaybetmiş gibi algılamıştır. Bu da dinin demagogların elinde oyuncak olmasına yol açmıştır. Bu durum, din ile politika arasındaki ilişkide hep problemler yaratmıştır.

This study examines the practices arising from these possibilities and the possibilities of transforming religion as a revelation of God, from being practical in a social experience to the political exploitation and instrument through theology. The Islamic world seems to have fed much of the theological language in the relationship between religion and politics. It is also that both religion and human being as political being, namely, social being have prevented the realization of their own originality. Religion is a practice (’amal) and way of life, but it is ignored by Muslims. And by them religion was perceived as politics. Therefore, when political power declined, they considered that religion also declined. It has led that religion has been made a cats-paw of by the demagogues. This fact always brought problems in the relationship between religion and politics.
