Allah’ın aynı özden yarattığı kadın ve erkek sorumlulukta eşittirler. Vahiy kadın ve erkeği birbirini tamamlayan “zevc” terimini kullanarak anlatır. Kadının fıtraten naifliği ve zarifliği hem eş olmada hem de annelikte avantaja dönüştürülmesi gerekirken, erkek kendi biyolojik “farklılığını” da kullanarak kadına zulmetmiştir. Hâlbuki kadın ve erkek sahip oldukları biyolojik, psikolojik “farklılıkları” ile övüneceklerine veya dövüneceklerine yeteneklerini sergileyerek değer üretebilirler. Kur’ân nâzil olduğu Mekke toplumunda verili kadın sorunu ile karşılaştı. Kur’ân bu problemi Hz. Meryem vb. prototipler üzerinden çözer. Hz. Peygamber de Hz. Meryem ile paralellik kurarak Hz. Fatıma üzerinden yeni bir model inşa eder. Hz. Fatıma değer üreten, babasına “annesi” kadar sevgili olacak kadar yakınlık kuran, ahiret endeksli hayata yönelen, birey ve özne olabilen, olayların arka planına nüfuz edebilen, hizmet davranışları ile görünen bir karakter olarak tarihteki silinmez yerini almıştır.
