Pollinator Insects and Global Pollination Crisis

Pollinator insects have a very important role in terrestrial ecosystems. Sustainability of plant communitiesand ecosystem stability depend on the relationship between pollinators and plants. Pollinator insects are a keycomponent of global biodiversity. However, insecticide application in agro-systems, destruction of natural habitatsby changing of landscape and land use are cause of a reduction or even extinction of pollinator population. As aresult of these, it has emerged ‘global pollination crisis’. According to current data, world biodiversity is decliningsteadily. The main causes of the pollination crisis are evaluated in this review.
