Geophytes Plants and Ecological Properties Distributed in Katran Mount (Bayramiç/Çanakkale) and Its Environs
In this study, Geophyt plants distributed in Katran Mountain (Bayramiç/ Çanakkale) andits environs has been identicated and its ecological properties have been revealed. At the end of thestudy, 54 taxa belonging to 16 families and 36 species have been determined. 8 of them were endemicto Turkey. In addition, 5 taxa of identificated from studies areas is new recorded to B1 Grid system.Orchidaceae (11) and Asparagaceae (10) families are those which have the most taxa. Crocus L. (4) andMuscari L. (4) are genera to be the most taxa. The composition of the taxa found in the area are; 40.75 %bulb, 25.9 % tuber, 24.1 % rhizome and 9.25 % corm. In the ecological studies, the physical and chemicalfeatures of the soil samples taken from the natural environment of the species have been identified.Besides, the threat categories and the types of the factors threatening the species have been underlined. The suggestions for the protection measures against for these threats have also been made.
