Assessment of Satisfaction and Environmental Preferences of Students

This study seeks to explore the role of university campus quality in artstudents' satisfaction. Environmental satisfaction is one of the keycriteria by which the extent of university educational quality may bedetermined. An educational environment of high quality campusconveys a sense of satisfaction with university environment that maybe physical, social and symbolic. Satisfaction and dissatisfaction fromthe art students' point of view can be used as criteria for the campusplanning, design and management to improve participation inenvironmental interaction and desire to more artistic performance.Data collection of the research was undertaken through a field studyusing photography, behavior monitoring and a questionnaire filled inby a sample of art students in Tabriz Islamic Art University.Descriptions and analysis of the results shows that the art students'satisfaction with their university campus environment is at a mid-levelidentity and legibility, access in the campus, sociability, livability,territoriality & control are of the main physical-psychological factors that may influence students' environmental satisfaction. According to the character of artistic creativity, contact with nature can have a positive influence on art students' environmental satisfaction.
