İranlı bir şair olan Bedrüddin Muhammed b.Abdillah Hilâlî-i Esterebâdi, Çağatay Türklerinden olduğu için Hilâlî-i Çağatayî ismiyle bilinmektedir. Kaynaklarda Şâh u Dervîş adlı mesnevisinin yazılış tarihine ait herhangi bir bilgi bulunmamaktadır. Eserin Bediüzzaman Mirza'ya takdim edildiği iyi bilinmektedir. Buna göre mesnevinin H.911-H.920 tarihleri arasında yazıldığını tahmin edebiliriz. Hilâlî-i Çağatayi'nin Şâh u Dervîş mesnevisinin tanıtımı olan bu çalışma üç kısımdan oluşmaktadır. Önce Hilâlî-i Çağatayî ve eserleri hakkında kısa bilgi verildikten sonra, Şâh u Dervîş mesnevisinin bölümleri, son kısımda ise özeti verilerek eser tanıtılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Bedrüddin Muhammed b.Abdillah Hilâlî-i Esterebâdi is known with the name of Hilâlî-i Çağatayî. He is a Iranian poet from Çagatay Turks. In the literature there is no record on written date of his mesnevi which is entitiled with Shah and Devish (Şâh u Dervîş). However, it is well known that this study was presented to Hüseyin Baykara's big son of Bediüzzaman Mirza. Therefore, we can assume that it was written between h.911-920 years. This study is an introductory review of the Shah and Devish (Şâh u Dervîş) mesnevi. The study is based on tree sections: Firstly, a summary of Hilâlî-i Çağatayî's autobiyography and his works will be given. Then, the contents of Shah and Devish (Şâh u Dervîş) mesnevi will be introduced. Finally, the context of the contents will be described.
