Bu çalışmada bir araya getirilen metinler, İslam düşüncesi tarihinin uzun ve meşakkatli yolu üzerinde, teolojik ve hereziografik söylemin oluşturduğu literatürün sınırları içinde oluşan düşüncenin ürettiklerine, 30 yıldan beri uygulanan insan bilimlerinin metotlarını tatbik ederek, entelektüel ve teknolojik modernite ile karşılaşmasından bu yana geri kalmalara, beklentilere, ihtiyaçlara karşı arayışlara girişen islam düşüncesinin belirli çizgilerinden oluşmaktadır
