Toplam Kalite Yönetimi Uygulamaları ve İşletme Performansı Arasındaki İlişkinin Analizi: Türk İmalat Endüstrisinde Bir Alan Araştırması

Bu çalışmada önce Türk imalat endüstrisinde faaliyet gösteren işletmelerde Toplam Kalite Yönetiminin (TKY) uygulanma düzeyi araştırılmıştır. Daha sonra TKY uygulamaları ile işletme performansı arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Bu ilişkide firmanın faaliyette bulunduğu iş kolu, firma büyüklüğü, TKY deneyim yılı ve firmanın ulusal/uluslararası alanda faaliyette bulunması gibi bağlamsal değişkenlerin etkileri araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın temel bulguları olarak, TKY'nin uygulanma düzeyi yüksek olmakla birlikte firma büyüklüğüne ve iş kollarına göre bir takım farklılıklar olduğu, TKY uygulamaları ile faaliyet performansı ve fmansal performans arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunduğu, TKY ile işletme performansı arasındaki ilişki üzerinde bağlamsal değişkenlerin etkili olmadığı saptanmıştır.

The Analysis of the Relationship Between Total Quality Management Applications and the Firm's Performance: A Field Study in the Turkish Manufacturing Industry

This paper first examines the implementation level of Total Quality Management (TQM) in the firms operating in the Turkish manufacturing industry. Then the relationship between TQM and firm performance is analyzed. In this relationship the effects of contextual variables (such as firm's business type, size, years of experience in TQM, and whether firm operates in domestic or international markets) are investigated. The main findings of the study are: TQM implementation level is high, TQM implementation level varies in accordance with firm's business type and size, there is a significant relationship between TQM implementation and firm's operation and financial performance, and contextual variables have no effect on the relationship between TQM and firm's performance.
