Tarih Araştırmaları Bakımından G.W.F. Hegel, F. Nietzsche ve M. Foucault

Tarihe ilerleyen bir süreç olarak bakan ve bütüncü bir tarih anlayışına sahip olan G.W.F. Hegel, bu anlayışı bakımından kendisinden sonra gelen pekçok filozofu etkilemiştir. Bunlardan en çok bilinen ikisi F. Nietzsche ve M. Foucault'dur. Bu iki düşünür Hegel'in tarih anlayışına hem tarihin ilerleyen bir süreç olarak ele alınması bakımından karşı çıkmışlar hem de onu bütüncü bir tarih anlayışı olması bakımından reddetmişlerdir. Bunun yerine "ayrım"a vurgu yapan, "tek"lerin gözden yitmemesine olanak sağlayan, tarihi ilerleyen bir süreç olarak görmeyen ve ona anlam yüklemeyen "soykütüksel bir araştırma"yı önermişlerdir. Bu araştırma sayesinde tarih, şimdiyi geçmişe tutsak etmeyecek ve geçmiş ancak şimdiye ve geleceğe hizmet ettiği sürece ve ölçüde ele alınabilecektir.

G. W. Hegel, F. Nietzsche and M. Foucault and Their Concepts of History

With his conception of history as a progressive process and his holistic view of history, G. W. F. Hegel influenced many philosophers. Among these, F. Nietzsche and M. Foucault are well-known. These two thinkers rejected Hegel's holistic and progressive cenception of history. Instead, they offered a genealogical inquiry, which does not attribute any meaning to history as a progressive process but stresses difference and particularity. Thus, history does not enslave the present to the past but the past is to be treated in so far as it serves to the present and the future.
