The Importance of Thematic Hotel Visuals for Potential Workforce's Intention to Work

In this study, it was aimed to learn the intention of tourism students to work in themed and non-themed hotels with the Theory of Planned Behavior. For this purpose, a scenario and visuals of a themed and a non-themed hotels were presented to the participants. Based on this scenario and visuals, it was aimed to understand which hotel the participants would like to work in. A structured interview form was directed to the participants. The interviews were analyzed through content analysis and descriptive analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that the majority of the participants preferred to work in a themed hotel and that past work experience was important in this decision. However, it was determined that the probability of working in one of these hotels in the future was close to each other both positively and negatively. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic and having another job were identified as the reasons why the participants would not work in one of the hotels offered to them in the future.
