Avro Bölgesi Ülkelerinde Suçun Coğrafi Açıdan İrdelenmesi: Göçmenlik, Eğitim Düzeyi, İşsizlik ve Suç İlişkisi

Avro Ülkeleri kapsamında 2015-2018 yılları arasındaki hırsızlık ve kasıtlı cinayet oranları değerlendirildiğinde tüm ülkeler genelinde bir düşüş yaşandığı görülmektedir. Buna karşın bu ülkelerde aynı yıllar arasında göçmen sayılarında artış olduğu dikkat çekmektedir. Literatürde sıklıkça karşılaşılan göçmen karşıtı politikalara olan genel talep çoğunlukla bu bölgedeki suç oranlarındaki artışın nedeninin göçmen kişilerce oluştuğu kanaati sebebiyledir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada suç olgusu sosyo-ekonomik ve makro-ekonomik veriler ile birlikte değerlendirilerek, faktörler CBS ortamında haritalandırılmış ve faktörler arası karşılıklı korelasyon katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Buna göre işsizlik ile hırsızlık, zorunlu eğitim ile işsizlik, göçmen sayısı ile işsiz kişi sayısı, zorunlu eğitim ile kasıtlı cinayet ve işçilik maliyetleri ile kasıtlı cinayet oranları arasında kayda değer bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Geographical Analysis of Crime in Eurozone Countries: The Relationship Between Immigration, Educational Attainment, Unemployment and Crime

When the rates of theft and intentional homicide are evaluated in Eurozone Countries between 2015 and 2018, it is seen that there is a decrease across all countries. On the other hand, it is noteworthy that there was an increase in the number of immigrants in these countries between the same years. The general demand for anti-immigrant policies, which are frequently encountered in the literature, is mostly due to the opinion that the increase in crime rates in this region is caused by immigrants. Therefore, in this study, the crime phenomenon was evaluated together with socio-economic and macro-economic data, the factors were mapped in the GIS environment and the correlation coefficient between the factors was calculated. Accordingly, it has been determined that there is a significant relationship between unemployment and theft, at least upper secondary educational attainment and unemployment, the number of immigrants and the number of unemployed, at least upper secondary educational attainment and intentional homicide and labor costs and intentional homicide rates.
