STABLE ISOTOPE AND MULTI-ELEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR DETERMINATION OF GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN OF TURKISH RICE

Osmancık-97, yüksek kalitede bir Türk pirinç çeflidi olup ve genellikle düflük kalite ve fiyatlı ithal çeflitlerikarıfltırılarak satılmak suretiyle tağflifl gerçeklefltirilen bir pirinç çeflidimizdir. Ülkemiz pirinç örneklerinincoğrafi orijinin belirlenmesi amacıyla gerçeklefltirilen çalıflmada çoklu element ve kararlı izotop orananalizler verileri birlikte kullanılmıfltır. Arafltırmada pirinç örnekleri Bakır (Cu), çinko (Zn), demir (Fe),Nikel (Ni), krom (Cr), alüminyum (Al), stronsiyum (Sr), karbon (C), azot (N), oksijen (O) ve hidrojen(H), olmak üzere on dört element bileflimi ve karbon, azot ve oksijen kararlı izotop oranı değerleriölçülmüfltür. Elde edilen veriler kanonik diskriminant analizi (CDA) ile istatistiksel olarak anlamlandırılarakgruplamalar gerçeklefltirilmifltir. Pirinç örneklerine ait ?13C için ?15N ve ?18O değerleri sırasıyla; -25,99den -28,15?, +3.27 ile +7.71? ve +22,32 ile + 27.08?, olarak saptanmıfltır. Bu değerlendirmelerıflığında pirinç örneklerinin ?13C, ?15N ve ?18O kararlı izotop oranları ve elemental bileflim oranlarınagöre orijin sınıflandırmasının baflarılı sonuç verdiği saptanmıfltır.

TÜRK PİRİNCİNİN COĞRAFİ MENŞEİ BELİRLENMESİNDE DURAYLI İZOTOP VE MULTİ- ELEMENT TEKNİKLERİNİN KULLANIMI

Osmancık-97 is an important Turkish rice cultivar with high quality and it is often targeted for theadulteration with imported varieties. Multiple elements and stable isotope profile were investigated fortheir use to trace geographical origin of Turkish rice (Oryza sativa L.) samples. Fourteen key variablesCopper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Iron (Fe), Nickel (Ni), Chromium(Cr), Aluminium (Al), Strontium (Sr), Carbon(C), Nitrogen (N), Oxygen (O) and Hydrogen (H) contents and stable isotopes (carbon, nitrogen, andoxygen isotopic compositions) were identified by "stepwise" canonical discriminate analysis (CDA) ofTurkish rice. For all samples ?13C, ?15N, and ?18O values are contributed from -25.99 to -28.15?, +3.27to +7.71? and +22.32 to 27.08?, respectively. Thus, the comparison of isotope profile and multipleelement contents of the rice is a good tool for rice authentication.
