Vibrio vulnificus kontamine deniz sularıyla ve su ürünlerinin tüketimi ile insanlarda oldukçî ciddi ve sıklıkla öldürücü enfeksiyonlara neden olan bir bakteridir. Vibrio vulnificus enfeksiyonları,çij yada yeterli ısıl işlem görmemiş kabuklu deniz ürünlerinin tüketimi ile invazif septisemiye nedeıolarak meydana gelir.
