Baş-Boyun Radyoterapisi Alan Hastalarda Hemşire Navigasyon Programının Yorgunluk ve Uykusuzluk Semptomları Üzerine Etkisi

Amaç: Bu çalışma, baş-boyun radyoterapisi ile ilişkili yorgunluk ve uykusuzluk semptomlarının yönetiminde navigasyon programının etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Randomize kontrollü, deneysel olarak tasarlanan bu çalışma, radyoterapi gören baş-boyun kanserli 88 hastanın katılımıyla Kasım 2018 – Mart 2020 tarihleri arasında, radyoterapi gören baş-boyun kanserli 88 olgu ile prospektif randomize kontrollü yapıldı. Tüm hastalara hastanenin standart tedavi yaklaşımları uygulanırken, çalışma grubundaki olgulara (n=41) ek olarak navigasyon programı uygulandı. Çalışmada hasta tanılama formu ve yaşam kalitesi ölçekleri kullanıldı. Ölçekler hastalara birinci, dördüncü ve yedinci haftalarda tekrarlandı. Bulgular: Çalışmadaki hastaların, %80,7’si erkek, yaş ortalaması 58,68±10,67’idi. Olguların %53,4’üne hemşirelik navigasyon uygulaması yapıldı. The Effect of Nurse Navigation Program on the Symptoms of Fatigue and Insomnia in Patients Receiving Head-Neck Radiotherapy

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effect of the navigation program in the management of fatigue and insomnia symptoms associated with head and neck radiotherapy. Method: This randomized controlled, experimentally designed study was conducted with the participation of 88 patients with head and neck cancer receiving radiotherapy, between November 2018 and March 2020, with 88 patients with head and neck cancer receiving radiotherapy, a prospective randomized controlled study. While standard treatment approaches of the hospital were applied to all patients, a navigation program was applied in addition to the patients in the study group (n=41). Patient identification form and quality of life scales were used in the study. The scales were repeated to the patients at the first, fourth and seventh weeks. Results: Of the patients in the study, 80.7% were male and the mean age was 58.68±10.67 years. Nursing navigation was applied to 53.4% of the cases.
