According to a Mayan belief, in order to relax and strengthen the spirit after a certain period of rapid living, it is necessary to occasionally think about, analyze and evaluate the past. This was believed to be beneficial both for the rest of the soul and for the development of the mind. In order to understand and evaluate the maritime sector better and to be able to make strategic decisions for the future, we have to get rid of the effects of actual happenings in maritime markets and calmly evaluate the events from a wide perspective. In this study, we will try to address the recent economic developments in the industry and find out the implications of these developments in the global maritime market and shipbuilding industry and their reflections on Turkey.
