HAVACILIK YAKITI JP-8 VE DİZEL KARIŞIMLARININ TEK SİLİNDİRLİ BİR DİZEL MOTORUNDA PERFORMANS VE EGZOZ EMİSYONLARINA ETKİSİ

Bir havacılık yakıtı olan JP-8, 1980li yılların sonlarına doğru NATO ülkeleri ortak askeri yakıtı olarak kabul edilmiştir. % 99,8i kerosenden meydana gelen JP-8, askeri uygulamalara uygun hale getirebilmek için çeşitli katkı maddeleri ile karıştırılmaktadır. JP-8 yakıtının en önemli özelliği donma noktasının -40oCnin altında olmasıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı JP-8 yakıtının referans dizel yakıtı ile çeşitli oranlarda harmanlanarak kullanım imkanını araştırmaktır. Bu çalışmada JP-8 yakıtı tek silindirli, 4 zamanlı ve direkt enjeksiyonlu bir dizel motorunda referans dizel yakıtına hacimsel olarak %5, %10, %25 ve %50 oranlarında ilave edilmiş, motor performans parametreleri ve egzoz emisyonları incelenmiş ve referans dizel yakıtı sonuçları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Motor momenti ve özgül yakıt tüketimi JP-8 karışımlı yakıtlarda referans dizel yakıtına göre kötüleşme göstermiştir. Egzoz emisyonları bakımından NOx emisyonları JP-8 karışımlı yakıtlarda referans dizel yakıtına göre iyileşirken, CO ve is emisyonlarında artış gözlenmiştir.

EFFECTS OF DIESEL AND JP-8 AVIATION FUEL BLENDS ON ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND EXHAUST EMISSIONS IN A SINGLE CYLINDER DIESEL ENGINE

JP-8, which is an aviation fuel, was accepted as a common military fuel towards the end of 1980s by NATO countries. JP-8 containig 99.8% kerosene is blended with various additives to make it suitable for military applications. The most important feature having a freezing point of below -40 0C. The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of using JP-8 and referance diesel fuel blends. In this study JP-8 was added to diesel fuel with volumetric ratios of %5, %10, %25 ve %50. Experiments were carried out in a single cylinder, fourstroke and direct injection diesel engine. According to the test results engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics were investigated and compared with the reference diesel fuel. Engine torque decreased and brake specific fuel consumption increased by using JP-8 blends according to the reference diesel fuel. While CO and smoke emissions increased, NOx emissions decreased with JP-8 blends when compared with diesel fuel.
