Bu çalışmanın amacı, farklı branşlardaki öğretmenlerin görüşleri doğrultusunda okullardaki beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin yeterliklerini belirleyecek bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Çalışmaya hizmet yılları 1-38 arasında değişen 386 öğretmen katılmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliliğinin test etmek için temel bileşenler faktör analizi kullanılmış ve tek faktör ile açıklanan varyansın % 56.86`sı bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık değeri (Cronbah Alpha) .95`dir. Hizmet yılları 1-26 arasında değişen 39 öğretmene 2 hafta arayla test edilen ölçeğin test-tekrar test güvenilirliği .93 bulunmuştur.
