Bulgaristan bugün yaklaşık 8.5 milyon nüfuslu bir Balkan ülkesidir. Nüfusunu Bulgar, Türk, Makedon, Sırp, Gagauz, Ulah, Rum, Tatar, Çingene, Yahudi, Ermeni, Rus gibi etnik gruplar oluşturmaktadır. Nüfusları 2 milyonu geçen Türkler özellikle Rodop ve Balkan dağlarının doğusu, Deliorman ve Dobruca bölgelerinde yaşamakta ve nüfusun önemli bir kısmını oluşturmaktadır. Türk kavimleri Bulgaristan\'a IV. yüzyıldan başlayarak XIX. yüzyılın ikinci yarısına kadar göç ederek buralara yerleşmişlerdir. Türkler yaklaşık bin beş yüz yıldır Balkanlarda yaşamaktadırlar. Bulgaristan Türklerinin pek güçlü ve zengin olan halk kültürleri sayesinde ayakta kaldıkları bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada kısaca Türkiye\'de ve Avrupa ülkelerinde Bulgaristan Türklerinin fBulgaria is a Balkan country with a population of 8.5 million. They have been living in this geography for nearly 1500 years. Their subsistence for such a long time is largely due to their very strong and rich culture .
