Reconstruction of 3Dsolid models from 2D drawings generated in autocad

A research work regarding reconstruction of 3D solid models from 2D drawings generated in AutoCAD has been performed. With this work, a computer program has been developed. The orthographic views of 2D cylindrical and prismatic parts drawn by the user in AutoCAD are saved in DXF format through the use of the program developed. Having been evaluated the geometric information by the program, primary and secondary primitives of cylindirical and prismatic solids are obtained by rotational and linear sweeping operations. Then, secondary primitives are subtracted from primary primitives by Boolean operations and cylindirical final solid models are completed. Prismatic final solid models are obtained by combining of primary primitives. VisualLISP was used as a programming langauage.
