Acute behavioral changes in the guppy (Proecilia reticulata) exposed to temephos

Temefos sivrisinek, tatarcık ve karasinek larvalanyla mücadelede kullanılan organofosforlu insektisitlerden biridir. Bu çalışma temefosun akut toksisitesinin lepistes (Poecilia reticulata) bireylerindeki davranış değişimlerinin belirlenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Denemelerde kullanılmak üzere lepistes balıklan (Poecilia reticulata) seçilmiştir. Her bir konsantrasyondaki davranış değişikleri kaydedilmiştir. Deneyler üç kez tekrarlanmıştır. Temefosun yetişkin erkek lepisteslerde 96 saatlik akut toksisite değeri 10 ila 100 mg/1 (ortalama >50 mg/1) arasındadır. 100 mg/1 dozda, 96 saat sonunda tüm balıklar ölmüştür. Buna ilave olarak, en düşük konsantrasyon olan 1 mg/1' de davranış değişikliği bulunmamıştır. Denemeler süresince su sıcaklığı 21±l°C'de sabit tutulmuştur. Ayrıca insektisitin herbir konsantrasyonunda balıklarda meydana gelen davranış değişimleri de gözlenmiştir.

Temefosa maruz kalan lepistes (Poecilia reticulata) bireylerindeki akut davranış değişimleri

Temephos is an organophosphorus insecticide used to control mosquito, midge and black fly larvae. This study was aimed to determine the acute toxicity of temephos on behavior of the guppy (Poecilia reticulata). Guppy fish (Poecilia reticulata) were selected for the bioassay experiments. Behavioral changes at each temephos concentration were recorded. The experiments were repeated 3 times. The 96 h acute toxicity range of temephos to adult male guppies was within 10 and 100 mg/1 (mean >50 mg/1). At 100 mg/1 dose, all fish died within 96 hours. In addition, no changes in behavior were observed at the lowest concentration of 1 mg/1. Water temperature was regulated at 21±l°c. Moreover, behavioral changes at each temephos concentration were observed for the individual fish.
