Adaptation of Family Efficacy Scales to Turkish, Validity and Reliability

In this study, the adaptation of the Family Efficacy Scales developed by Caprara,Regalia, Scabini, Barbaranelli and Bandura (2004) to Turkish was done. The sample ofthe study consists of a total of 375 person, including 125 adolescents in high school andtheir parents. The family competence scale consists of four forms. Data from the Filial,Marital, Parental, and Collective Family Scales were analyzed using SPSS 23 and AMOSschedules. Explanatory factor analysis (AFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (DFA)were used as methods. According to the results of AFA, filial’s form is four-dimensional,marital form is two-dimensional, parental form is two-dimensional and collective familyefficacy form is three-dimensional. Only a substance with a low substance load in theparental form has been removed.As a result, there are items 16 filial form, 12 marital form, 11 parental form and 20collective family form, which are applicable for Turkish family structure. According toDFA results, compliance indices are significant. The high scores obtained from the scalesindicate that the self-efficacy of the relevant role is high, while the low scores indicatethat the self-efficacy of the relevant role is low.
