Semptom Grubu Kavramı ve Önemi

Kanser hastalar› hastal›k süreci, tedavi s›ras›, sonras› ve terminal dönemde kontrolü güç olabilen, çok say›da semptom ilekarfl› karfl›ya kalmaktad›r. Kanserli hastalarda görülen semptomlar›n, etyolojisinin, aralar›ndaki iliflkinin ve etkileyenfaktörlerin anlafl›lmas›, bak›mda daha etkili semptom kontrolüne ve yaflam kalitesinin gelifltirilmesine katk›da bulunmaktad›r.Birbiri ile iliflkili, üç veya daha fazla semptomun efl zamanl›, bir arada olmas› durumu (örn: a¤r›, yorgunluk ve uykusorunlar›) “semptom cluster”, (“semptom grubu” veya “semptom kümesi”) fleklinde ifade edilmektedir. Kanser hastalar›ndaefl zamanl› görülen semptomlar, kendi içinde birbirini etkileyerek semptom gruplar›n› meydana getirmektedir (örn: “bulant›,kusma, ifltahs›zl›k”). Semptom gruplar›, kanser tedavisi esnas›nda hastan›n fonksiyonel, duygusal durumunu ve dolay›s›ylayaflam kalitesini daha ciddi düzeyde etkilemekte ve bu hastalar›n bak›m› ve semptom kontrolünü daha da zorlaflmaktad›r.Gerek hastal›k gerekse tedavi nedeniyle kanser hastalar›n›n yaflad›¤› çoklu semptomlar›n yaflam kalitesi üzerinde olumsuzetkisinin ortadan kald›r›lmas›, çoklu ilaç kullan›m› ile sistemik toksisitelerin önlenmesi, semptom gruplar›n›n daha iyianlafl›lmas› ve kontrolüne yönelik uygun bak›m› ile mümkündür.Anahtar kelimeler: Kanser, Semptom, Semptom grubu, Hemflirelik
