Safety of magnetic resonance imaging in patients with vascular stents

In recent years, developments observed in percutaneous vascular procedures and rapid increase observed in the number of operators and centers that perform this procedure has promoted the treatment of percutaneous vascular interventions, and the number of patients treated by stent implantation has considerably increased. For this reason, it has been a question met very often whether the application of magnetic resonance imaging in patients with stent placement will be safe or not. The aim of this review is to investigate safety of magnetic resonance imaging in patients with vascular stent placement in the light of recent literature data.
