Improving the Secondary School Students' Knowledge Level about the Water Cycle with the “Incredible Journey” Educational Game
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of educational games on improving 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students’ knowledge about water cycle and to investigate which grade has the best improvement. The present study recruited a pre-experimental one group pre-test/ post-test research design. The sample of the study consists of 51 secondary school students 18 for 5thgrade, 16 for 6th grade and 17 for 7th grade . To collect data, The Water Cycle Knowledge Test including 12 open-ended questions was used. “Incredible Journey” educational game provided from ProjectWET was employed to improve students’ knowledge level. Data were subjected to descriptive analysis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that 5th grade students showed the best change in understanding of water cycle. The development of students' knowledge of water cycle should be started at 5th grade and this may be done by integrating the water cycle educational game into the content of courses
