Ortodontide elektromiyografi

Elektromiyografi EMG , kas fonksiyon ve aktivitesini elektirik potansiyelleri ile kaydeden en güvenilir yöntemdir. EMG, kasların kasılmasını sağlayan elektiriksel aktivitenin izlendiği ve yorumlandığı bir kas incelemesidir. EMG yöntemi ile elde edilen kayıda ‘elektromiyogram’; biyolojik doku ile kayıt sistemi arasında bağlantıyı sağlayan araca ise ‘elektrod’ adı verilir. Yüzeyel ve iğne elektrodlar ile emg kayıdı alınabilir. Yüzeyel emg sEMG noninvaziv bir yöntemdir, enfeksiyona yol açmaz ancak derin ve küçük kaslardan kayıt almak zordur. EMG yöntemi diş hekimliğinde ve ortodontide yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Araştırmalarda, klinik uygulamalarda, kas aktivitesinin ve kas fonksiyonlarının incelenmesinde, kas asimetri ve felcinin teşhisinde kullanılır
