Bu araştırma, 1968 yılında yurdumuz güney Marmara bölgesi Kara kabuklu sümüklüleleri tespit etmek maksadıyla bölgeyi temsilen Karacabey Harası-Bursa ve Kumkale İnekhanesi- Çanakkak müesseselerinde yürütüldü. Her iki müesseseden aşağı yukarı müsavi miktarlarda olmak üzere 26.979 adet sümüklü toplandı ve teşhis edildi. Bölgede Helicidae ve Enidae familyalarma bağlı Heliceila candieaııs ( Pfr.), H elicopsis derbentina ( andrz.) H. krynickii(Andrz.), H. protea (Rossm.), Trochoidea pyranıidata (Drap.), Cernuella virgata (D.C.), Monacha carthusiana (Müll.), M. olivleri (Ph.), M. (Paratheba) rothi (pfr.), Cochlicella acuta (Müll.), Helix figulina (Rossm.), H. cineta (Müll.), Chondrus tournefortianus (Fer.), Mastus rossmaessleri (Pfr.), Imparietula seductilis (Rossm.), sümüklü türleri tespit edildi. Türlerin fertleri ve bu türlere yakınlık gösteren diğer türler arasında renk, büyüklük, diğer morfolojik ve anatomik farklılıklarla coğrafi yayılışları hakkında bilgi verildi. Sümüklü'lerin saha yaşantıları incelendi. Ayrıca. 15 türe ait 25 fotoğraf çekildi.

This study was conducted throughtout the year 1968, with the object of determining the land snails at two places which are representative of South Marmara Georaphic Region - Karacabey State Farm, Bursa and Kumkale State Farm, Çanakkale. A total of 26.979 land snails was identified in approximate equaı number from grazing areas on both State Farms. The fallawing snail species belong to Helicidae and Enidae found in the region: Heliceila candieans (Pfr.), Helicopsis derbentina (Andr.), H. krynickii (Andrz.), H. protea (Rossm.), Trochoidea· pyramidata (Drap.), Cernuella virgata (D.C.), Monacha carthusiana (Müll.), M. olivieri (Pfr.), M. (Paratheba) rothi (Pfr.), Coehicella acuta (Müll.), Hclix figulina (Rossm.), H. cineta (Müll.), Chondrus tournefortianus (Fer.), Mastus rossmaessleri (Pfr.), Imparietula . sednetilis (Rossm.). Variations in colour and size, geographic distirubitions and other features in the specimens of the snail species and the species related to the these snail species were discussed. Habitats of the snail species were observed in the field. 25 figures of the 15 species from the region were alsa illustrated.
