Ankara Çevresindeki Koyunlarda Serum Vitamin A ve Çinko Düzeylerinin Mevsimsel Değişimlerinin Araştırılması.
serum vitamin A düzeyleri 16,65±0,75 ug/dL ve 18,15±0,96 ug/dL'dir. Akyurt ilçesinin kış
mevsimine ait serum vitamin A düzeyleri 18,25±0,87 ug/dL ve Çubuk ilçesine ait değerler ise
14,45±0,67 pg/dL olarak bulundu. Koyunlarda normal serum retinol düzeyleri 20-45 ug/dL olmasına
rağmen vitamin A yetersizliği veya fazlalığı literatür verilerine göre optimum eşik sınır aralığı
10- 100 ug/dL olarak bildirildiğinden bir Hipovitaminoz A tablosu tespit edilmedi.
Ancak Ankara iline bağlı beş yöreden toplanan serum örneklerinin çinko düzeyleri sırasıyla
incelendiğinde Çubuk ve Gölbaşı ilçelerine ait ilkbahar mevsimindeki ortalama değerler
52,30±1,62 ug/dL; 69,90±2,86 ug/dL'dir.
Research on Seasonal Changes of Serum Vitamin A and Zinc Levels in Sheep ArOund Ankara Province
This study was carried out to detect the level of vitamin A and Zinc in sheep sera araund Ankara
and compare the values obtained during spring, summer, autumn and winter. During each
season, 100 blood samples, total 400 sampfes were collectedfrom 2-4 years old Akkaraman breed
ship bred intensively and extensively in 5 different regions of Ankara province. The levels of serum
vitamin A were detected by UV Spectrophotometer and the levels of Zinc by FAAS.
According to the seasons, the relationship between serum vitamin A and Zinc levels obtained
from the sampfes were statistically evaluated by two way variance analysis and it was shown that
both seasons and regions had statistically very significant (p≤0.001) effects on the results. However,
differences between serum Vitamin A levels in the spring and winter in Çubuk and Elmadağ
towns, and in the spring and autumn in Nallıhan town were statistically not significant, differences
among the groups by Duncan test.
In the spring, average serum Vitamin A level was 16.65±0.75 ug/dL in Çubuk and 18.15±0.96
ug/dL in Gölbaşı. in the winter, average serum Vitamin A level was 18.25 ±0. 87 ug/dL in Akyurt
and 14.45±0.67 ug/dL in Çubuk. These results are lower than the reference normal results. Although
normal serum retinol levels are accepted to be 20-45 ug/dL, hyper and hypo-vitaminosis A
optimum threshold values are 10-100 ug/dL according to literature data. Thus, there is no hyper
and hypo-vitaminosis A present in the animals we tested.
When serum Zinc leve ls in the sampfes collected from 5 different regions of Ankara province
were examined, it was shown that average serum Zinc levels in the spring were 52.30±1.62 ug/dL
in Çubuk and 69.90±2.86 ug/dL in Gölbaşı. In the winter time, serum Zinc level was found to be
68. 75±2.96 pg/dL in Akyurt and 55.60±2.27 pg/dL in Çubuk. In sheep, normal Zinc level is between
80-117 Ug/dL. Since insufficiency threshold value is accepted to be 70 Ug/dL, it was detected that
serum Zinc levels were under the normal average serum Zinc levels inanimalsin three different regions
during spring and winter time.
As a result, it is concluded that our findings will support the breeDers to Make arrangements
in feed rations by taking se asonal changes into consideration, and by this, it will be very useful for
animal health protection and economical activities based on animal breeding.
