HALK SAĞLIĞI SÜRVEYANSINDA SOSYAL MEDYANIN KULLANIMI

Geçmişte mevcut tek gözetim sistemi geleneksel klinik veri tabanları iken, teknolojik ilerlemeler halk sağlığının geleceğini şekillendirmekte ve büyük verilerin ortaya çıkmasına ve daha katılımcı araçlar ve iletişim normlarının oluşmasına yol açmaktadır. Bu dijital sürveyans araçlarının, halk sağlığını tehdit eden sonuçların izlenmesini zamanında ve etkin maliyet ile sağlamaları nedeniyle geleneksel yollara göre daha avantajları olduğu söylenmektedir. Bununla birlikte, halk sağlığı sürveyansında sosyal medyanın önemi arttıkça, bu sürveyans yöntemlerinin geçerliliği, geleneksel halk sağlığı altyapısına ilişkin rolleri ile ilgili endişeler de artmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, halk sağlığı sürveyansında güncel gelişmeleri anlamakta sosyal medyanın kullanılabilirliği, kullanım alanlarının irdelenmesi ve sürveyans yöntemleri arasında kanıt düzeyinin sorgulanmasıdır.

THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN PUBLIC HEALTH SURVEILLANCE

Although the only surveillance system available in the past has traditional clinical databases, technological developments shape the future of public health and lead to the emergence of large data, more participatory tools and communication norms. These digital monitoring tools are reported to have more advantages than traditional ways, because they enable timely and effective monitoring of public health threatening situations. However, as the importance of social media in public health surveillance increases, the concerns about the validity of these surveillance methods and their role in traditional public health infrastructure are increasing. The aim of the study is to question the level of evidence between social media surveillance and other surveillance methods with public health perspective.
