Tarsus'ta Geleneksel Konuttan Cumhuriyet Dönemi Konutuna: İki Örnek Yapı Özelinde Konut Mimarisinin Dönüşümü
Bu çalışma Tarsus geleneksel konut dokusu içinde Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde inşa edilmiş olan iki konut yapısının mekânsal ve işlevsel biçimlenmelerinin aynı yerdeki geleneksel konut yapıları ile karşılaştırılmasını içermektedir. Tarsus tarihi konut dokusu içinde 1950'li yıllarda inşa edilmiş olan iki yapının plan şemaları geleneksel konut yapılar ile benzerlikler taşımaktadır. Bu çerçevede incelenen iki örnek yapı Tarsus özelinde konut yapılarının zaman içinde mekânsal ve işlevsel örgütlenmesinin değişim ve gelişimini değerlendirme imkânı sunmaktadır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde, Cumhuriyet öncesi ve sonrası Türkiye'de görülen konut yaklaşımları anlatılmaktadır; ikinci bölümde örnek iki yapı incelenmektedir. İkinci bölümde, ayrıca, incelenen iki yapı ile aynı bölgede inşa edilmiş Osmanlı Dönemi’ne ait geleneksel konut yapıları arasında, mekânsal ve işlevsel örgütlenme ile strüktür ve malzeme kullanımı konularındaki benzerlik ve farklılıklar sunulmaktadır. Son bölümde, incelenen iki yapı, Tarsus yerelinde konut gelişim tarihi ve yerel mimarlık konuları kapsamında irdelenmektedir. Bu yapılar, Osmanlı Dönemi’nin sosyo-kültürel yapısına bağlı olarak tasarlanan geleneksel konut yapılarından, Cumhuriyet Döneminde gelişen mimari yaklaşımlar ve yaşam biçimine paralel olarak apartmanlaşan konut yapılarına evrimin örnekleri olarak değerlendirilmektedir.

From Traditional Housing to the House of the Republican Period in Tarsus: Transformation of Housing Architecture through Two Examples
This study includes the comparison of the spatial and functional configurations of the two residential buildings constructed in the Republican Period with the traditional residential buildings in the same place. The plan schemes of the two buildings built in the 1950s have similarities with the traditional residential buildings. In this context, the two sample structures examined within this study provide an opportunity to evaluate the change and development of spatial and functional organization of residential buildings in Tarsus. In the first part of the study, housing approaches before and after Republic in Turkey is presented; in the second part, two sample buildings are explained. The similarities and differences from the points of spatial and functional organization, and, structure and material usage between the two sample buildings and the Ottoman Period traditional residential buildings are also presented in the second part. In the last part, the sample buildings are evaluated within the context of housing development history and local architecture in Tarsus. These buildings are considered as examples of the evolution of housing structures from traditional residential buildings designed in accordance with the socio-cultural structure of the Ottoman Period, to the apartment buildings developed in parallel with the changed architectural approaches and life style of the Republican Era.
