Causality Relations Between Construction Sector and Monetary Policies in Turkey

For monetary policy makers, understanding the reaction of construction output to monetary variables is important. The present study analyzes the causal relations between the private construction flow and monetary policy in Turkey using Granger causality approach. The findings indicate a two-way causality relationship between construction flows and monetary policy indicators. Moreover, the findings that may contribute to explaining the behavior of construction and house credit are obtained.
