Removal Of Suspended Partıcles From Wastewater Usıng Flocculatıon Method

In this study, flocculation method was applied to synthetic wastewater containing suspended particles. In the experiments, polyacrlamide-based anionic, cationic and nonionic synthetic flocculants were used. Flocculation tests were carried out at jar test apparatus with six mixing paddles. The effects of some parameters such as flocculant type, molecular weight of flocculant, flocculant dosage, pH of suspension and rapid mixing speed on the turbidity removal efficiency were determined. The best result was obtained as 98,9 % turbidity removal efficiency by using anionic flocculant having high molecular weight.
