ÇEVRE KİRLİLİĞİ VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ: ÇEVRESEL KUZNETS EĞRİSİNİN TÜRK EKONOMİSİ İÇİN YAPISAL KIRILMALI EŞ-BÜTÜNLEŞME YÖNTEMİYLE TAHMİNİ

Bu çalışma Türkiye’de çevre kirliliği ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkiyi analiz etmektedir. Çalışmada 1950-2007 dönemi yıllık verileri kullanılarak yapısal kırılma içeren birim kök ve eş-bütünleşme testleri uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın bulguları Türkiye’de çevre kirliliği ile ekonomik büyüme arasında niceliği değişmekle birlikte uzun dönemli bir ilişki olduğunu göstermektedir. Başka bir ifadeyle, sonuçlar Türkiye’de ekonomik büyüme ve çevre kirliliği arasındaki ters-U şeklinde bir ilişkinin varlığını göstermektedir.
