Kimya Öğrencilerinde, Kimyasalların Genotoksik Etkisinin Kromozom Aberasyon Testiyle Belirlenmesi

Üniversitelerin kimya bölümünde okuyan öğrenciler, laboratuar çalışmaları esnasında çeşitli kimyasallara maruz kalırlar. Bu kimyasalların öğrencilerde genotoksik risk oluşturup oluşturmadığı, in vitro lenfosit kültüründe, kromozom aberasyonu (KA) testiyle belirlendi.

Determination of chemically induced genotoxicity by chromosomal aberration test in chemistry students

University students studying chemistry at degree level are exposed to various chemicals during their laboratory works. To determine if this exposure constitutes a genotoxic risk factor, lymphocytes from exposed subjects were examined in vitro by employing the chromosomal aberration (CA) test. Peripheral blood samples were taken from the subjects who were students at the Chemistry Division of the Faculty of Literature and Sciences, University of Nigde. Controls consisted of unexposed students. Chromosomal anomalies and mitotic index of peripheral blood cells from all subjects were determined. The results from the two groups were compared by the t-test. There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of CA and mitotic index (p>0.05).
