ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN YAZ OKULU HAKKINDAKİ TUTUM VE GÖRÜŞLERİ
Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin yaz okulu hakkındaki tutum ve görüşlerini
belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2013–2014 öğretim yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi
Kazım Karabekir Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencileri; örneklemini ise OFMAE bölümü Biyoloji,
Fizik, Kimya ve Matematik Eğitimi ABD ’da öğrenim gören ve yaz okuluna katılan
toplam 314 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma, öğrencilerin normal dönem ile yaz dönemi
arasındaki uygulamalara bakışı, öğrencilerin yaz okuluna kalma nedenleri ve öğrenci
gözüyle öğretim elemanlarının yaz okulundaki performanslarını nasıl değerlendirdiklerini
tespit amacıyla yapılmıştır. Ulaşılmak istenen bilgiler nicel olarak anket ve nitel olarak
açık uçlu sorular ile yazılı mülakat şeklinde yapılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde
yüzde (%) değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğrencilerin çoğunluğu
yaz okulu uygulamasını olumlu karşılarken, yaklaşık yarısı ise yaz okulunun adaletli bir
sistem olmadığını düşünmektedir. Öğrenciler yaz okuluna kalma sebebi olarak genellikle
“erken mezun olmak” ve “kötü geçen bir dönemi düzeltmek” olarak ifade etmişlerdir.
Öğrenciler genel olarak yaz dönemini normal bir dönem olarak görmektedirler.
