SINIF ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ STEM EĞİTİMİNE İLİŞKİN METAFORİK ALGILARININ BELİRLENMESİ
Araştırmanın amacı, sınıf öğretmen adaylarının bilim, teknoloji, mühendislik ve matematik (BilTeMM) disiplinleri ile ilgili algılarını ürettikleri metaforlar yardımıyla belirlemektir. Metaforlar olayların meydana gelişi ve işleyişi konusunda düşüncelerimizi yönlendiren, yapılandıran ve kontrol eden çok etkili zihinsel araçlardandır. Araştırma,
2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Sınıf Öğretmenliği Bölümünde okuyan 64 kadın, 50 erkek öğretmen adayı üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma
sonucunda; araştırmaya katılan adayların fen eğitimine ilişkin en çok kullandığı metaforların bilimsel kurgu, laboratuvara, hayat ve anlaşılması güç kavramları olduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca, araştırmaya katılan adayların teknoloji eğitimine ilişkin en çok kullandığı metaforların gelişim, kolaylık, yenilik ve tembellik kavramları olduğu görülmektedir.
Araştırmanın bir diğer sonucu olarak ise, araştırmaya katılan adayların mühendislik eğitimine ilişkin en çok kullandığı metaforların matematik, inşaat, yaratıcılık-tasarım,
çok çalışmak ve makine kavramları olduğu görülmektedir. Bunun ile birlikte, araştırmaya katılan adayların matematik eğitimine ilişkin en çok kullandığı metaforların sayı yığını,
işlem, mantık, zorluk ve eğlence kavramları olduğu görülmektedir.
