Psikolojik Danışmanların Akademik Başarısızlığın Nedenlerine ve Müdahale Yöntemlerine İlişkin Görüşleri: Yoksulluk ve Psikolojikleştirme Perspektifinden Bir Değerlendirme

Bu makalede, okullarda ruh sağlığı hizmeti veren psikolojik danışmanların, zorunlu eğitime devam eden öğrencilerin akademik başarısızlıklarını ve başarısızlıkla ilişkili durumları kavramsallaştırmaları ve söz konusu duruma müdahale etme yöntemleri, yoksulluk ve psikolojikleştirme ekseninde incelenmiştir. Bunun için nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan tipik durum örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada farklı kademelerde çalışan 10 psikolojik danışmanın tipik bir çalışma gününü anlatmaları istenmiştir. Ayrıca akademik başarısızlığın nedenlerine ilişkin düşünceleri ve uyguladıkları müdahale yöntemlerine ilişkin sorular sorulmuştur. Daha sonrasında verilen yanıtlara içerik analizi yapılmıştır. İçerik analizinin sonucunda psikolojik danışmanların çok yüksek oranda öğrencilerin akademik başarısızlıklarını psikolojik sebeplerle açıkladıkları/psikolojikleştirdikleri ve bu yönde müdahale ettikleri görülmüştür. Söz konusu bulgular yoksulluk, yoksullukla ilişkili faktörler ve psikolojikleştirme üzerinden tartışılmıştır.
