Kiraz Üretim İşletmelerinde Etkinlik Analizleri: Çanakkale İli Lapseki İlçesi Örneği

 

Efficiency Analysis in Cherry Production: The Case of Lapseki District of Çanakkale Province

Turkey meets approximately 20% of the world total cherry production. The 70% of the production of Çanakkale, with a significant share in Turkey's cherry production, is produced in Lapseki district. In this study, we tried to determine the technical efficiency scores and the factors that effects these scores of cherry production in Lapseki. Data envelopment analysis and truncated regression model with bootstrapping (1000 replications) was performed to determine the efficiency scores and the efficiency factors. The means of efficiency scores for the assumption of constant returns to scale and variable returns to scale were determined as 83% and 85%, respectively. Also the mean of scale efficiency scores was determined as 96%. Besides, it is also determined, cherry production experience, cherry land, age, application of nitrogenous fertilizer, application of the active ingredient Thiram and spirodiclofen have positive effects on the efficiency scores.
