Hemşireliğin temellerinden olan iletişim, bireylerin duygu, düşünce ve deneyimlerini anlamaya çalışmayı içerir. Nitel araştırma yöntemleri hemşirelik hizmetlerinin bütünlüğünü sağlamada ve hemşirelikte gelişmekte olan hizmetleri değerlendirmekte yararlı olabilir. Bu nedenle iletişim nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin yapı taşlarından biridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'de hemşireler tarafından yürütülen nitel araştırmaların sayı ve özelliklerini belirlemektir. Türkiye'de hemşireler tarafından yürütülen nitel araştırmalara erişmek için, Türkçe olarak "hemşire, hemşirelik, bakım, nitel ve nicel araştırma" anahtar kelimeleri ve İngilizce olarak "Turkey, nurse, nursing, care, qualitative, qualitative and quantitative research" anahtar kriterler kullanılarak üç veri tabanı taranmıştır. Türk Medline, YÖK Ulusal Tez Merkezi ve Pubmed. Bu kriterler dahilinde 30 tez ve 64 makaleyi içeren toplam 94 çalışmaya ulaşılmıştır. Bu veriler hemşirelik alanında nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin 2002 tarihinden itibaren kullanıldığını göstermektedir. Araştırmacıların daha çok fenomenolojik deseni kullandığı ve uluslararası yayını tercih ettikleri görülmektedir.

Communication, one of the basis of nursing, includes the understanding o f individual's emotions, opinions and experiences. Qualitative research methods may be useful for ensuring the integrity of nursing services, and also the evaluation o f the development o f services in nursing. Therefore, communication is considered one of the constituents o f qualitative research methods. The aim of the study is determine the amount and characteristics o f qualitative research which has been conducted by nurses in the field in Turkey. In order to access qualitative research conducted by nurses in Turkey, three databases were scanned: Türk Medline, the National Thesis Center of the Council o f Higher Education, and Pubmed, using the following keywords: "hemşire, hemşirelik, bakım, nitel, nitel ve nicel araştırma" for Turkish, and "Turkey, nurse, nursing, care, qualitative, qualitative and quantitative research" for English... A total of 94 studies were accessed, including 30theses and 64 articles within the criteria. This sample shows that qualitative research methods have been used in the nursing field since 2002. It was seen that researchers generally took a phenomenological approach, and targeted international publications
