Karpal tünel sendromunda ultrasonografik bulgular

Karpal tünel sendromu el bileğinin en sık rastlanan sıkışma nöropatisidir. Bu sendrom tünel içinde median sinirin sıkışmasına bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan semptomları kapsar. Bu çalışmada klinik olarak idiyopatik karpal tünel sendromu tanısı konulan 44 olgunun ultrasonografik bakısı yapılarak, etyolojik etken araştırılmıştır. 34 olguda ultrasonografi ile etyolojik etken saptanmış, 10 olguda ise herhangi bir neden bulunamamıştır. 17 olgu cerrahi olarak tedavi edilmiş ve ultrasonografik tanılar patolojik bakı ile doğrulanmıştır. Bu veriler , ultrasonografinin karpal tünel sendromunda etyolojiyi belirlemede etkin ve kolay uygulanabilir bir yöntem olduğu sonucunu desteklemektedir.

Ultrasonographic findings of the carpal tunnel syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the most common diseases of the wrist. This syndrome consists of symptoms due to median nerve compression within the carpal canal. In this study, 44 cases who were diagnosed as idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome were evaluated ultrasonographically in order to demonstrate an etiological factor. While an etiological factor was determined in 34 of the cases by ultrasonography; no reason could be found in 10. Seventeen cases were treated surgically and ultrasonographic diagnosis was in corroboration of pathological results. These findings support the result that ultrasonography is an effective and easily applied method to identify the etiology in carpal tunnel syndrome.
