İşletmelerin performansını etkileyen önemli bir unsur olan entelektüel sermayenin soyut bir varlık olmasından dolayı, ölçülebilmesi de oldukça zordur. Otel yöneticilerinden elde edilen bilgiler ile entelektüel sermayenin işletme performansı üzerinde etkisini incelemek ve yöneticilerin entelektüel sermayeye karşı tutumlarında farklılığı tespit etmek amacıyla çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan bu çalışmada, Afyonkarahisar ve Balıkesir’de bulunan toplam 154 otel yöneticisi ile anket çalışması olarak yapılmıştır. Anket çalımasından elde edilen bulgulara göre otel işletmelerinde, entelektüel sermayenin unsurlarından insan sermayesi unsurunun öncelikli önemde olduğu, daha sonra ise bunu müşteri sermayesi ve yapısal sermayenin izlediği görülmüştür. İlave olarak yöneticilerin yaşlarına göre entelektüel sermaye unsurlarının algılanışında anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir.

Since intellectual capital, which is an important factor affecting the performance of businesses, is an intangible asset, it is very difficult to measure. The study was carried out in order to examine the effect of intellectual capital on business performance with the information obtained from hotel managers and to determine the difference in the attitudes of managers towards intellectual capital. The research was conducted as a survey study with a total of 154 hotel managers in Afyonkarahisar and Balıkesir. According to the findings, it has been seen that human capital, one of the elements of intellectual capital, is of primary importance in hotel businesses, followed by customer capital and structural capital. In addition, significant differences were found in the perception of intellectual capital elements according to the age of the managers from questionnaire.
