Kronik bel ağrılı hastalarda fizyoterapi programının fonksiyonel kapasite ve yaşam kalitesi üzerine etkisi

Amaç: Çalışmamız, kronik bel ağrılı hastalarda standart fizyoterapi programının ağrı, fonksiyonel kapasite, günlük yaşam aktiviteleri ve yaşam kalitesi üzerine etkisini değerlendirmek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya, kronik bel ağrısı tanısı ile fizyoterapi programına alınan 30 hasta dahil edilmiştir. Olguların ağrı ile fonksiyonel aktivite ve günlük yaşam aktiviteleri arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmek üzere Pain Disability İndeksi ve Oswestry Fonksiyon Testi kullanılmıştır. Yaşam kalitesini değerlendirmek üzere ise SF-36 Yaşam Kalitesi İndeksi kullanılmıştır. Değerlendirmeler tedavi öncesi ve tedavi sonrası olmak üzere 2 kez tekrarlanmıştır. The effects of physiotherapy program on the functional capacity and the quality of life in patients with chronic low back pain

Objective: Our study was planned to evaluate the effects of standard physiotherapy program on the pain, functional capacity, daily activities and quality of life in patients with chronic low back pain. Material and Method: Thirty patients with chronic low pain and thus attending the physiotherapy program were included in the study. Pain Disability Index and Oswestry Function Test were employed to evaluate the relationship between pain, functional capacity and daily activities of patients. SF-36 Life Quality Index was used to evaluate the quality of life. The patients were evaluated before and after the therapy. Results: Significant improvements were detected regarding the Pain Disability Index and the Oswestry Function Test, the SF-36 Life Quality Index after the therapy (p<0.05). Conclusion: Physiotherapy is helpful in decreasing the symptoms of low back pain and more importantly in increasing the quality of life by eliminating functional restrictions. With short term physiotherapy, it is possible to decreasie symptoms and increasie the quality of life. Decreases in pain may also help to improve functional deficiencies in the daily activities of the patients.
