THE INFLUENCE OF ―THE LION AND COW‖ STORY OF KALÎLAH WA DIMNAH IN PERSIAN LITERATURE

"Kalīlah wa Dimnah " is one of the precious works that brought into world literature by Iranian. If "Borzūya" had not brought it to Iran, and "Ibn al-Muqaffa" had not translated from Pahlavi into Arabic, perhaps fortune of this book would be different, and we cannot see its undeniable influences to Persian literature and world literature. One of the main stories of this book is story of “lion and cow” that took place in the first section of Panchatantra and second section of Abu‟l-Maali‟s translation. In the Panchatantra this story is named „separation of buddies‟. Until now this story was studied in different perspectives, especially mythical, but we try to make a study of its influence to Persian literature. With this study it will be clear persons of Persian literature in which subjects great and how used this story in their works
